DINDRTIME PRIVACY POLICY

THE SHORT VERSION

• DindrTime doesn't require an account. No email, no password, no real name.
• We collect the minimum needed to run the app: a screen name you pick, your dinner swipes, and a general search area for finding restaurants.
• We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

WHAT WE COLLECT

In the app:

• Screen name and optional photo. You choose a screen name (it can be any nickname) and can optionally add a profile photo. That's how your dinner partner sees you.
• An anonymous identity. When you first open DindrTime, the app creates a random anonymous ID tied to your device. There is no account signup, and we never ask for your email or real name.
• Pairing and session data. Who you're paired with, the relationship label the inviter picked, your swipes, matches, final restaurant picks, and dining history. This is the whole point of the app, so yes, we keep it.
• Search area. To find restaurants, the app uses either a ZIP code you type in or your device location, only if you grant permission, and only while you're using the app. We never track your location in the background.
• Push notification token. So we can tell you it's your turn to swipe.
• Device basics. Platform (iOS/Android) and time zone, so sessions and notifications behave correctly.

On the website:

• Waitlist email. If you join the launch waitlist at dindrtime.com, we collect the email address you give us. We use it to tell you about the launch and nothing else. You can unsubscribe anytime.

For beta testers:

• Beta testers additionally provide the email address used for their TestFlight or Google Play invite, and a name or screen name on the beta tester agreement.

WHAT WE DON'T COLLECT

• Your real name (never required)
• Your contacts
• Background or precise location history
• Audio or video recordings (the camera is used only to scan your partner's pairing QR code, and nothing is stored)
• Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

• Run the matching loop: sync swipes and matches between you and your partner
• Find restaurants near your search area
• Send push notifications about turns, matches, and reminders
• Keep your pairing connections and dining history available to you
• Fix bugs and improve the app

That's the whole list. We don't sell or rent your information to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising.

SERVICES WE RELY ON

DindrTime uses a small number of service providers to function. They process data on our behalf:

• Supabase hosts our database and anonymous authentication.
• Google Maps Platform (Places API) powers restaurant search. Your search area is sent to Google to return nearby restaurants, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Expo (EAS) delivers push notifications and app updates.
• Apple (App Store / TestFlight) and Google Play distribute the app and manage beta testing programs under their own policies.
• Our website host processes waitlist signups.

DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

• Your anonymous identity lives on your device. If you delete the app, that identity is abandoned and can't be recovered.
• Unpairing from a partner removes the connection between you.
• To request deletion of data associated with your device or email, contact us at DindrTime@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

CHILDREN

DindrTime is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

SECURITY

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and our database uses access controls so each pair can only see its own data.

YOUR CHOICES

• Location, camera, photo, and notification permissions are all controlled in your device settings, and the app works with a ZIP code if you'd rather not share location.
• Waitlist emails include an unsubscribe option.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top and note it on this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
